| Dear Friends, Greetings from all of us at Ageno Special Learning Center in Kendu Bay, Kenya! As we look back over the first half of 2026, our hearts are filled with gratitude. Every milestone we have reached has been possible because of God’s faithfulness and your generous support. Thank you for believing in our mission of providing love, education, dignity, and hope to children with special needs. Celebrating Our Ageno Stars Every day we witness incredible progress in the lives of our students. Children continue to gain confidence, develop communication skills, learn academics, build independence, and grow socially. These victories may seem small to some, but for our families they are life-changing. Our school continues to be a place where every child is valued, encouraged, and given the opportunity to reach their God-given potential. Learning Beyond the Classroom This year our students have enjoyed many memorable experiences together. We celebrated birthdays with families, welcomed special visitors, participated in church activities, learned practical life skills, cared for our school garden, and strengthened friendships through play and shared meals. Our students also continue learning vocational and daily living skills that prepare them for greater independence. |
  Growing Our Sustainability Projects God has continued to bless our efforts to become more self-sustaining. This year we have: *Successfully hatched several batches of chicks, including one hatch of 33 healthy chicks. *Continued developing our poultry project to help generate income for the school. *Expanded practical agricultural learning opportunities for our students. *Continued growing vegetables and strengthening other income-generating activities that support our ministry. These projects not only provide learning opportunities but also help us move toward long-term sustainability. Strengthening Our Facilities We continue improving our school facilities to create a safe and welcoming environment for our students and community. Our vision includes completing additional spaces that can serve both our students and the wider community through training, meetings, conferences, and after-school programs. Every improvement brings us one step closer to creating a center of excellence for children with special needs in our region.   A Growing Challenge While we celebrate many successes, we are also facing one of our greatest challenges. Transportation has become the biggest barrier preventing children from attending school. Several families live too far away for their children to walk safely, and many children with physical disabilities cannot travel by motorcycle. As a result, some students have had to stop attending simply because they have no reliable transportation. Our Greatest Need: A School Bus Our most urgent need today is a wheelchair-accessible school bus. A school bus would: *Bring children safely to school each day. *Allow children with physical disabilities to attend regularly. *Increase enrollment by reaching families who currently have no transportation. *Reduce absenteeism. *Enable educational field trips and community participation. *Help more children experience the love, education, and opportunities they deserve. A school bus would do far more than transport children—it would open doors to education, inclusion, hope, and brighter futures.     Looking Ahead As we continue serving children with special needs, we remain committed to providing quality education rooted in Christian values. We believe every child is uniquely created by God and deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
